For WordPress and WooCommerce, here is the 4-step process to activate exit-intent popups:

Step 1: In the campaign builder, navigate to Display Rules.

Step 2: After adding rules to ruleset, click exit detected from the dropdown.

Step 3: Choose which devices to apply exit intent. It can be desktop only, mobile only, or all devices.

 

Step 4: Choose sensitivity of the campaign that can be low, medium, or high before clicking save.

How sensitivity is determined?

For desktop, exit intent triggered by motion of mouse towards the browser bar. For low, it is 1 pixel away from the sides of the browser bar. For medium, 50 pixels, and for high, 150 pixels.

Since on mobile, there is no such thing as mouse, the exit intent is triggered by actions such as quickly scrolling the page and/or clicking the back button. It is low or medium when the user scrolls up the page, and high when user clicks the back button (subject to browser not blocking this behavior).

Even if your main source of income is something like affiliate marketing, it is suggested to still have your AdSense account and submit all the sites under your network for AdSense approval.

One advantage is a network site approved for AdSense means it is following good practices prescribed by the Google. You can be assured that Google Search has not found anything objectionable to be blacklisted on its search engine. This means your site has no serious issue that may otherwise compromise on organic searches on Google, thereby making the most of affiliate marketing or other revenue streams of your choice.

Also in case you are willing to sale your website on marketplaces like Flippa, an AdSense approved account is a big positive. Even if you are not making much from AdSense, buyer gets a sense of confidence.

Now, this post is regarding a perspective from a buyer of an AdSense approved website. I will proceed with a case study of website WooSplendid.com sold by me through marketplace Flippa.

Other things remaining the same, the buyer of WooSplendid intended first to have her own new AdSense account approved. The buyer relied on me to apply for her new AdSense account on her behalf. It is to be noted that an AdSense account is non-transferable. So if you buy an existing AdSense approved website, you still need to apply afresh for your AdSense account, and there is no guarantee that Google will approve when submitted by the new buyer. So be careful providing accurate details both on newly-purchased website and AdSense signup.

 

The About, Terms, Privacy, and Disclaimer pages were updated with details of the new buyer (company, contact person, contact email id, phone no). Actually, I was using Termageddon software for generating the policies. For example, this is Terms page of one of my websites, powered by Termageddon. For the buyer, I copied text that is loaded from Termageddon server and edited while making the text as part of the page. Of course, one is advised to edit policies as per the ways you are going to operate site going forward.

Applied for AdSense account here on behalf of the buyer.

Since for the WordPress website WooSplendid.com, I was using Header & Footer plugin for placing AdSense code, all I needed was to remove my AdSense code and place the same for the AdSense code of the buyer that is generated while submitting the first website for AdSense approval.

After AdSense signup and submission of website for AdSense approval, it is advised to immediately add Ads.txt file (though you can do this step later). Since I am using Ads.txt Manager plugin, I decided to update the file for the new buyer.

The AdSense account was approved within 72 hours of submission.

Multi-Step Popup Forms

It is not usual to see popup forms that are multi-steps or multi-pages. OptinMonster can help come out with a multi-step popup form within few minutes by drag & drop and without any programming knowledge.

1. Creating Popup

Click Create New Campaign once under OptinMonster dashboard.

Select your campaign type.

Choose campaign template.

It is recommended to opt for Mobile Optimized for best view on smartphones.

By selecting Goals filter, OptinMonster will show template options relevant to your goal.

For a multi-step popup unique to your brand, choose Canvas template that helps prepare a form from scratch by drag & drop (no programming involved).

For the sake of keeping things simple, we are choosing Basic for this post.

Now, name your campaign and click Start Building.

 

2. Designing Popup

You now find yourself under OptinMonster Editor with a range of customization options that are easy to manage through elements or blocks. In other words, a campaign is broken into elements or blocks that can be customized clicking on the particular element or block.

Just take a look at the Basic Template with two blocks:

a. Text block

b. Optin Block

To modify any block, simply click any space there and edit. Block type in addition to text and image can also be button, chatbot, countdown timer, divider, video, HTML, and more.

You can add new block in a campaign by simply drag & drop.

Make sure to customize Success Page depending on the campaign’s goal. While for newsletter subscription, you can have a ‘Thank You’ page as followup, in case of redirecting to another URL, there is no need to design success page.

 

3. Adding MonsterLink™

For this example, we will be using MonsterLink™ method such that when a user clicks on MonsterLink™ link, the popup initiates with the first screen. Click Display Rules at the top of the editor.

You get various customization options including after how much time the popup appears with Time on Page.

Finally, click Copy MonsterLink™ Code.

You get the HTML code (<a href=”https://app.monstercampaigns.com/c/zme20kceu2n31jdtbmkb/” target=”_blank”>Click Me!</a>) which can be pasted on post/page/widget. In case only link needed, just copy https://app.monstercampaigns.com/c/zme20kceu2n31jdtbmkb.

(2) Yes/No

This asks a question whose answer is either yes or no. The target can be to get the yes answer filled. As the user fills up first Yes, Sign Me Up, there is increased urge to keep on answering with yes so as to complete the process started.

The process is similar to (1) Creating Popup above.

Now for (2) Start Building, Designing Popup, click Yes/No button.

Next, click Enable Yes/No For This Campaign.

A new page is created for the popup campaign.

Next, you can modify Yes, No, and text, images, buttons or any other elements/blocks.

For Yes and No block, you can modify appearance, hover, and what happens when Yes/No buttons clicked.

This article is written as we started implementing Tailwind for Instagram on our business and does not include all its features. The Tailwind team does an excellent job of coming out with contents (both text-based as well video) that explain the features on their website and blog.

Tailwind for Instagram


Tailwind being a web based app, you can access functionalities of this social sharing tool best on a web browser while on desktop/laptop and preferably on Chrome browser. Also are iOS and Android apps that are effective when on move.

Once logged in, you will see a popup that asks whether you intend to use Tailwind for Pinterest or Tailwind for Instagram. This, of course, if using both Pinterest and Instagram and subscribed individually. In other words, Tailwind for Pinterest and Tailwind for Instagram are two different subscriptions (Tailwind Android app).

For this article, our focus is Tailwind for Instagram that just got a new-and-improved UX. We will be using both Tailwind app (Android) and the core Web version. For creating new posts while on move, the Android version is handy.

Screenshots used in this article are from both Web version and Android app. They may not be sequential. Screenshots from Android app source mentioned in caption. Few screenshots are from older version but since the aim is to highlight functionality, that should not affect the way Tailwind deployed.

Scheduling, Hashtag Finder, and Smart.Bio continue to be three core features of Tailwind for Instagram.
Once Tailwind connected to your Instagram account, you get the above new dashboard.

 

Publisher, Insights, and Smart.bio are three categories on left sidebar menu.

 

(1) Publisher

Publisher divided under three submenus: Drafts, Published Posts, and Your Schedule.
Under Published, you get a list of all the existing published Instagram posts while screen taken to Post Inspector submenu.

The above Published list is not just historic data but an opportunity to further capitalise on the existing posts with Smart.bio link and Schedule it under Action. You accomplish this by rescheduling while making the most of hashtags.

Now for this article, we focus on how to publish new Instagram posts through Tailwind and how features like hashtags generator, CTA, access to photo stock library Unsplash, Publisher Browser Extension give competitive advantage.

Upload Photos/Videos, Free Stock Photos, and Publisher Extension (showing Chrome since accessed on Chrome browser) three ways to create new posts.

After upload, you can select either Post Now or Schedule. Use both for best result (Tailwind Android app).

 

Once the image/video uploaded from your device(computer/smartphone), the same will appear under Drafts. The earlier screenshot of the file uploaded not showing under Drafts as both screenshots not sequential.

 

The Location field offers suggestions as first few words typed.

 

As for the proposed image, we would like to have a different cropped area.
Landscape, Square, and Portrait mode. You can still adjust crop area after choosing the mode.

In other words, uploaded images for auto-post cropped automatically if auto-cropping enabled (auto-cropping enabled by default). Or you can crop area of choice manually before pressing Auto-Post button that adds posts to your Instagram feeds immediately.

For daughter, got relevant hashtags that should help get more traffic when audience looking for similar information. As one hashtag selected, more choices related with the chosen one comes up. If not satisfied with suggested hashtags, press shuffle icon and you will get fresh set of choices taking into consideration other parameters.
Emojis can be added with caption.
After adding hashtags, the post is scheduled for the next day.
By one click, all the posts under Drafts scheduled to be posted in the coming days. The days and time are chosen by the Tailwind software based on its best predictions. They can always be modified or added with other days and time. For instance, you can set the date and time of a post to be date and time of birthday of a celebrity.
Sharing Instagram on Pinterest and Facebook page for increased visibility.
Why Pinterest?
Choose Board and click Set Pin Destination.

 

Similar to Pinterest, you can share on your chosen Facebook page.
Customize CTA is a smart tool to persuade visitors of posts take a look at your profile  (Smart.bio recommended) that should lead to increased visitors coming to your own blog/website/online store.
Note how CTA text can be formatted with 4 options including curly, bold, and italics.
Add to Queue for scheduling the post. For specific time, click clock and set exact date and time.
Auto post means scheduled post will automatically be published at scheduled date and time.
Mobile notification feature that will notify on mobile about the scheduled post to be published. You may at that time choose to get the post actually published or cancel the post to be published.
Instead of mobile notification, an SMS message will be sent. At that time, you may choose to publish or cancel the scheduled posting.

Hashtag lists can be created. In the future when similar posts published, such lists will save time.

 

Tag feature suggest options while first few letters of people/business entity typed.
Once you fill the two fields under Smart.bio (Link Label and URL) and schedule, the post will show up on Smart.bio profile link (www.smart.bio/digitalsplendid) once published on Instagram at chosen date and time.
Under Scheduled, you get list of scheduled posts.

 

Under Publisher, Your Schedule is where automation and artificial intelligence capability of Tailwind comes into visibility. The default timings and number of times that Tailwind will automatically share the posts are optmized. One can modify them as well.

 

Set custom time by clicking clock icon (left of Add to Queue). Choose Add to Queue and the post will be scheduled on days and time based on the prediction by Tailwind software that will maximize views. All the posts under Draft can be scheduled at one instance by pressing Schedule All Drafts button.

 

(ii of iii) Ways to create new posts: Free Stock Photos

 

Choose images from Splash, popular stock photography site for free. No need to worry about copyright issues.

Select image and press Upload as Draft button.
The uploaded image will appear under Drafts. Next, the process of posting immediately or scheduling after leveraging features like hashtags remains the same as discussed under (I) Upload Photos/Videos.

Smart.bio link is an URL that is placed under Website of Instagram profile. Since Instagram allows only one website, Smart.bio bundles together a number of websites and posts under one page and autoupdated as and when scheduled posts published on Instagram.
 
Button Links is the place you put your static web pages like Home Page, About Us, Contact Us, Hire Us.
Below Button Link is Add Instagram Post Links where blog posts/articles or stuffs like that placed.
